christmas eve 2003 i rammed the backdoor on
my toe due to the neighbors dog being a complete
cockknocker. it hurt like hell and bled
blah blah blah....
eventually it turned darkish... almost black...
and gave me no more problems.
today it gave me notice that it will soon
be leaving my toe.
i'm not sure how i feel about this.
90% of the nail is free from the bed...
with the remaining 10% just under the skin
on one corner.
now i'm sure this post just makes you cringe...
as its making me cringe just to post it.
while it doesn't hurt at all, it IS slightly
uncomfortable... but mainly because its a
disgusting process i'd rather do without.
its also scary to think that in a few days,
i'll see the topside of my toe... something
that has never been exposed before in my
life.
i think i'm gonna be sick......

Yeah, wierd stuff, my younger brother had an in-grown toenail which was removed. Sort of a wierd sight.
Wonder how sensitive the skin underneath will be.
But as far as i know the nail should grow back, eventually.
You know, as a kid, i disliked having to cut my nails short, because my fingers would be enormously sensitive.. yuck.. Luckily they're not as sensitive anymore.
And you know, for some reason it doesn't sound really... gross.. just wierd. Wonder how it feels, or looks, just, i wouldn't hurt my own toenail enough nor want to wait for it to regrow in all that time, besides that it doesn't sound that bad to me.

When I first read through your post, I thought you were saying (or leading up to saying) that you were going to have to have your toe removed!
It really freaked me out!
I thought I was gonna lose my thumbnail 8 years ago when I sliced my thumb. But after much waiting, the nail split into two separate entities. The top layer said "adios" for awhile as the bottom layer stood strong.
At this point, the nail had regained about 75% of it's full capacity while the top left corner of it remains two separate layers of nailness. I'm thinking that in another 8 years it might just look normal again!
I'm sorry about you losing your nail...butta....thank god you get to keep your toe!
And I apologize in advance for stepping on it.

TG, I thought that's what she was leading up to as well. I thought she was gonna say her toe was either broken or gonna have to be removed. Shatzy girl, I'm sorry. I hope it's not too painful for ya.
I don't know about anybody else, but my feet and toes are one of the most sensitive places on my body. I hate when something painful happens to my feet. If I drop anything on my feet, you'd think I went ahead and broke it right there. I start crying and screaming and cussing and holding my feet and toes. My toes are just extra sensitive.
Hope it gets better soon Shatzy girl [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
